- Back from the paint shop and riveting rear spar and ribs
Bob
has sprayed up all the components I gave him a couple of weeks
ago; and they look great.
It
meant that the rear spars could be riveted together. Check
the plans and tape up the holes you dont want to rivet because
they are riveted in assembly with another piece !!!!!
Anyway
doubler plates done; partly with pneumatic squeezer and partly
with the gun. This took most of the morning (after spending
an hour renumbering the ribs)
Starting with the right hand
wing; the ribs were attached in numbered order to the main spar.
Out comes the gun again; and I made use of my SNAP-SOCS (get then
from Avery) again to protect the manufactured head. They
work a treat; don't last long though so I have ordered some more.
There was just enough time by the end of the day to
cleco on the rear spar. I started to rivet these as well but
need some better clamps....I always seem to need more tools
!!!!!!!!!!!
